Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been putting together some swaps for a craft group I’m in…..A swap is where you make stuff and exchange with someone else. I be posting these off today to the US. There are 6 pockets, 6 matchbox books and 6 paper clips….all vintage themed ….. In return will receive the same amount back, but they will be all very different because they have been all made by different people.

The second swap I’m doing is a journal page swap . So with this one I’ve made 10 jounal pages and in return I will receive 10 pages back made by 5 different people from all over the world!

When I get my swap back I plan on making them all in a book…can’t wait
I’ve gone alittle crazy lately with sewing patterns …. I love the fashion illustration on them and they make at perfect mini books.

This one I made for my Mum. I’ve used a vintage pattern envelope. On the front and back covers are pocket made for the instructions sheets of the pattern.

I’ve also used the the tracing paper pattern to make the flowers…..A completely upcycled book!
I spend my life “wondering”…. wondering what I’m going to cook for dinner? Wondering where’s my phone? Wondering where’s my glasses? But the most frustrating wonder is, what’s my password? for all those places that need passwords…
I now have a solution a “wonder” book! Short for I wonder what my password is!!!
Heres mine…

This little book was made out of a cereal box covered with cardstock then decorated with some stamping and a napkin. I’ve used coffee dyed paper for pages that have been sewn in with embroidery thread. Finished off with ribbons to tie it shut.
My wonder book …..a sanity saver … LOL
A couple of years ago Leon was let down by people who helped to care for him when I wasn’t available. This started a downwards spiral for me. It triggered panic attacks and I could no longer manage my stress levels in any area of my life.
Welcome to my blog. My Blog is called “Making Stuff” because that’s what I do! I make stuff with paper. I make cards, I make books, I make tags, I make ATC’s…..and when I’m not making stuff I’m drawing…..I have a busy life I work outside the home and am also a carer for my adult developmentally delayed son, Leon who’s a super independent gentle giant with no skill set, he leaves a mess behind him wherever he goes…lol
My road to recovery has been “Making stuff”. I have a very messy area in the house that’s all mine and I just make stuff that makes me happy. I can spent 10 minutes, half an hour or half day it doesn’t matter as long as it makes ME happy.
In my blog I will share the stuff I make, the stuff that makes me happy. Sometimes it may be really creative and sometimes it won’t , but that’s OK 🙂 What it’s really all about is what gets me through those tough moments that I struggle with.
